UNION, NJ - Township and county parks, fields, and playgrounds will be closed, effective immediately, said Union Mayor Michele Delisfort.

The closure is indefinite, announced Union police, but is another measure to try to flatten the curve. "We realize that closing the parks is an inconvenience for residents looking to get outdoors, but as more people go to the parks and playgrounds, it is becoming difficult to maintain social distancing."  Police advise to stay at home except for essential services.

Police say this is a full closure--even walking around or through the park is not allowed.  According to Union Business Administrator Don Travisano, there will be "zero tolerance".
