UNION, NJ — Twenty-one more Union residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since yesterday, bringing the number of documented cases in Union to 1,350, Mayor Michele Delisfort said.
As of Wednesday morning, across Union County, the number of positive cases stood at 10,484, and across New Jersey, 95,865 people have tested positive for COVID-19, Delisfort said in her daily update, based on her conference call with state, county and local officials. Statewide, there have been 5,063 deaths from the coronavirus, with 481 from Union County. As of Monday, the death toll from COVID-19 in Union has reached 14.
Of the 5,063 New Jerseyans who have died from COVID-19, 2,302 have been 80 years of age or older, according to the New Jersey Department of Health’s website. One-thousand-six-hundred-and-sixty-nine were between the ages of 65-79, and 838 were between 50 and 64 years of age.
