UNION, NJ - Union schools will operate on a half-day schedule beginning Friday, March 13, for building disinfecting in response to concerns about the spread of the coronavirus.
In a message to parents Thursday afternoon, Superintendent Gregory Tatum said students and staff will remain on a half-day schedule until further notice "as we wait for further directive from the state department to close schools." Beginning on Friday, all after school and weekend activities are suspended.
Preschool classes will alternate half-day sessions starting with Pre-K AM on Friday. The message to parents concluded "should there be a need to close the schools for a full day for a faculty training, we will notify families with at least a day's notice. Stay safe and healthy."
