UNION, NJ - Mark Hoyt has been named interim principal of Union High School, effective August 1.

Superintendent Gregory Tatum announced Hoyt’s move at Tuesday night’s School Board meeting.  “The next move will be to appoint a successor at Battle Hill,” he said.

Hoyt is to replace Acting Principal Althea Bossard, who has served as Union High School’s interim principal since Corey Lowery was placed on administrative leave in September 2018.

Hoyt has served as Principal of Battle Hill School since August 2015.  Prior to that, he served as principal of Washington Elementary School.

Other administrative changes include moving current Kawameeh Vice Principal David Shaw to the position of Principal, Burnet Middle School.  Tatum said a third vice principal position has been added at Burnet Middle School, one for each grade level.

Shaw has been Vice Principal at Kawameeh since 2011.
