UNION, NJ - The 138th commencement ceremony for Union High School seniors was unlike any before it, but student's and parents' pride and excitement shined through during multiple socially distant events on Thursday.
Each graduating student was called upon, walked to the podium, and moved their tassel from right to left symbolizing acceptance of their diploma (received on June 24). A special tribute to Army Specialist and Cadet Anthony P. Steitz, killed in a car accident in April 2019, took place at the graduation event.
"It's always an honor for me to stand before you and have the pleasure of presenting you as a class" said Superintendent Gregory Tatum. "But tonight I present to you the graduates for Union High School 2020. Congratulations and best of luck in all your future endeavors."
