UNION, NJ – Hannah Caldwell Elementary School students kicked off Respect Week with a visit from Titan, a member of the Omega-Man & Friends motivational kids assembly program.

Titan held the students’ attention with an program that provided information on key issues such as bullying, self-esteem, peer pressure and academic excellence.

“If you make a good choice, you’re a dream maker,” said Titan.  “And that makes every single one of you a hero.  What it really means to be a hero is Helping Everyone Respect Others.”   Titan said students must reach down deep every day and pull that hero out.  “Every single day you have to believe in yourself.”  Following Titan’s words, the students recited, “if I believe in me, then I’ll achieve good things in my life.”

Titan said dream makers look out for others, helping classmates, helping friends, making good choices.  He said dream breakers “don’t care about you, your dreams or goals.  They want you to make bad choices, not listen to your teachers or parents.”  Titan cautioned the students to avoid dream breakers.

“You are one hundred percent special,” continued Titan.  “You’re unique.  There’s greatness inside each and every one of you.”

The Week of Respect helps schools maintain positive school climates and provides students with a safe and supportive school environment devoid of harassment, intimidation and bullying by encouraging academic success and increased social and emotional competence.
