UNION, NJ – It’s election season again and Monday, April 2, was the last day for candidates to file to have their names added to the ballot for the upcoming June 5 primary.
There are two Township Committee terms expiring at the end of 2018. Candidates who have filed for those seats are:
Running as incumbent Democrats are Committeewoman Michele Delisfort and Committeeman Manuel Figueiredo. Challenging the incumbents for the Democratic nomination are Jason Krychiw and Ronnie McDowell.
On the Republican side, Karen Slawson and Justin Versoza filed to run and are unopposed for the Republican nomination.
The winners of the democratic and republican primaries will face off against each other in November along with any independent candidates that may file. Independent candidates have until Tuesday, June 5, to file their petitions for the November election.
