Union, NJ – Wanting to spread some cheer over the holidays, students at Jefferson School adopted a homeless family with four young children.
Members of the Student Lighthouse Team came up with ideas on how to fundraise for the family, including duct taping the principals and ‘wacky week’. The students on Jefferson School’s Community Service team packed up and delivered all of the donations, said Kelly Piano, Jefferson's Leader in Me Coordinator. Enough money was raised to fill the family’s entire wish list.
"I enjoyed helping a family that is not as fortunate as me,” said student Ryan Rampaul.
Nkechi Okafor stated, "It felt great to load the truck with all the donations,” said student Nkechi Okafor. “I was glad to help during the holiday season".
