UNION, NJ – The Union Rotary Club’s annual Eloquence Soiree celebrates students from Union High School who compete in the annual Marvin Orella Speech Contest.
On Wednesday, June 5, the Rotary Club will be hosting the annual event at the Galloping Hill Inn in Union.
The contest is entering its 22nd year. Through the support of those who have attended the event, the Union Rotary said they have been able to provide $110,000 in scholarships for local students since the contests' inception in 1997.
In addition to the Speech Contest, the Union Rotary Club will present the Rotary Excellence in Education Award to Randi Moran, Supervisor of the English Language Arts and Speech Contest Director at Union High School and Barbara Lamort, President of the Union Township Historical Society. The Rotary will honor all of their commitments to education and longstanding support of Rotary's Marvin Orella Speech Contest.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and the public is welcome to hear the speeches and celebrate as the winners are announced.
