UNION, NJ - Union Mayor Michele Delisfort is alerting residents of the drive-up COVID-19 testing site, set to open Monday morning in the parking lot at Kean University.

In her CodeRed and email messages to residents, Delisfort emphasized the site is a prescription and appointment only facility.  The site will not accept walk-ups or drive-ups without a prescription or an appointment under any circumstances.  She said the site is looking to perform 200 tests per day.

Delisfort said all agencies involved, including the township administration, is working together to ensure the safety of Union residents, emergency and safety personnel, medical teams, and all participants.  "The entire operation will take place within the Kean University grounds. Traffic entering the test site will come in from Morris Avenue and overflow of traffic will be contained on site and on Morris Avenue," she said.  No traffic will be diverted to any neighborhood or residential streets.  For additional safety, said Delisfort, all those being tested will remain in their vehicles at all times.
