UNION, NJ – Union’s Annual Operation Clean Sweep/Adopt-a-Park program, in its 25th year, will take place this year on Saturday, May 18.
The program, dedicated to beautifying and maintaining the cleanliness of the township, is open to residents, organizations and leadership groups. Volunteers will meet at the Department of Public Works, 1 Swanstrom Place East, at 8:30 a.m. for check-in. After checking in at the Department of Public Works and obtaining an “Operation Clean Sweep” t-shirt, participants will be dispatched to different parks throughout town, to clean the Township of littler and debris.
The event schedule is as follows:
•8:30 a.m. - check-in at the Department of Public Works
•9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Operation Clean Sweep will be taking place
•12:00 p.m. - A picnic for all participants will be held following the cleanup at Rabkin Park Family Cove. There will be free face painting and a DJ.
