UNION, NJ – To help friends, classmates, and families cope with the tragic loss of Jeremy Maraj, the 12-year old boy killed in the Wednesday night hit and run accident, Holy Spirit Church will be open on Saturday for counseling and assistance.
Maraj was set to be a seventh-grade student at Kawameeh Middle School in September. Perez said Holy Spirit’s Fr. Jose Robinson Valencia and parish staff member Catherine Drake will be available to talk with children and their families. Holy Spirit Church, 971 Suburban Road, will be open on Saturday from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. Parents must be present. All religions are welcomed.
Kawameeh Middle School will be providing counseling on Monday. Details have not yet been finalized.
Maraj died on Friday morning following the hit and run accident on Galloping Hill Road at about 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The driver of a work van fled the scene, but the owner of the van from an Edison-based business, contacted Union police. The investigation by police continues.
