UNION, NJ – The Union Senior Center is ensuring Union's seniors are not alone during the COVID-19 crisis.
“We are there for our seniors,” said Senior Center Director Phyllis Monguso. “They know how to handle a crisis. When you say stay in, they stay in. They’ve been great.”
Monguso said she has begun an emergency essential food delivery service, consisting of ½ gallon milk, white bread, 18 eggs and butter for $9.37. Seniors in need of these items can call the Senior Center office at 908-851-5290 and leave a message. The items will be delivered to the senior’s doorstep within 24 hours.
Monguso said the Senior Center and club members are keeping in touch through a daily telephone bank. “We all check in each other, so if someone needs something, someone is there to help.”
Senior citizens, or those calling on behalf of a Union senior, needing assistance can leave a message at the Senior Center office, 908-851-5290.
