UNION, NJ – Young readers in Hannah Caldwell and Battle Hill Elementary Schools enjoyed the fruits of their labor on Wednesday when they celebrated their accomplishments in this year's Olympic Reading Programs.

Librarian Karen Franciosa said, “I couldn't be more proud of the students who worked diligently throughout the year to accomplish their personal reading goal.”

Franciosa said Hannah Caldwell students read for 532,115 minutes; Battle Hill students 501,000.

Hannah Caldwell students enjoyed a party by Party King Entertainment, with an interactive dance, complete with prizes for all students who completed the reading program. 

Battle Hill School students took part in a gold medal ceremony and ice cream party. 

Both school’s PTA organizations sponsored their respective events.
