UNION, NJ – Holy Spirit School Student Council executive members and class representatives were officially inducted on Monday during a school program.

“You will be the voice for all of us here at Holy Spirit,” said Principal Armand Lamberti.  “Today, upon being inducted officially as student council members, you will begin a tough task of being the voice of our students.  And trust me, that voice is important.  This school is for you, the students.”

Township of Union Committeeman Manuel Figueiredo swore in executive council members and teacher and Student Council Advisor Paul Hirsch swore in the class representatives.

“You, the students at Holy Spirit School, have entrusted your fellow students before us with the task of hearing your voice, the voice you voted for, to represent you this school year,” said Hirsch.  “Today, we gather together to have these students take an oath, a promise to rise to the occasion, represent your voice, provide you with an opportunity to be heard.”

A prayer service, the Pledge of Allegiance, and a lighting of the Advent candle preceded the ceremony.
