OLD WESTBURY, NY - Isaac Kalema of Union, an architecture major in New York Institute of Technology's Class of 2019, has been granted NYIT's award for Student Government Association Senator of the Year. Senators are crucial to the success of NYIT's clubs and organizations, and this award honors a leader who has shown how passionate they are about the club they represent. The NYIT Office of Student Life bestowed a total of 20 awards on 18 students for demonstrating leadership and supporting their peers in various ways throughout 2018-19.

NYIT provides transformative social and co-curricular experiences at its two New York campuses, in New York City and on Long Island. The Office of Student Life oversees orientation and the first-year experience; student clubs and organizations (including fraternities and sororities); the student government association; residence life; and other student-centered activities and opportunities.
