UNION, NJ – An eleven-year old Union boy riding a bicycle was struck by a car Saturday afternoon on Erhardt Street between Route 22 and Vauxhall Road.
According to Union police, preliminary information indicates the child may have ridden out from between two parked cars and was struck by a car traveling north on Erhardt. The accident occurred at about 2:20 p.m.
Police say the driver remained on the scene. The driver voluntarily gave a statement and blood sample. The Union County police were called to handle the investigation. The child was taken to University Hospital. His condition is not currently known.
