UNION, NJ – In conjunction with National Night Out, the Union Police Department will be providing free "Ident-a-Kid" child ID cards Tuesday, August 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Investor's Savings Bank, 977 Stuyvesant Ave.

In conjunction with National Night Out, Ident-A-Kid I.D. cards are given to parents for safekeeping.  According to police, the program emerged to assist parents who were frightened by headlines of missing and abducted children.  In addition to providing current information about the child with a photo, the program is designed to open a dialogue between police, parents and children, to assist in establishing procedures within the family to help keep children from becoming victims of predators.
