UNION, NJ – A Magie Avenue liquor store was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday night, Feb. 15, according to Union police.

Police say they received a 91-1- call at 9:52 p.m. reporting a robbery at the Village Liquors at 1233 Magie Avenue.  An employee reported that he was robbed by a man with a gun at closing time.  The suspect took cash and fled from the store on foot.  Police say the crime appears related to one that occurred in Roselle Park at 9:37 earlier that night, when the 7-11 store was robbed by a man with the same description.  The suspect is described as a black male with a mask covering his face, armed with a silver handgun.

Another armed robbery took place at the Village Liquor store on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018.  According to Union Police Director Dan Zieser at the time, two Hispanic males robbed store at about 4:00 p.m.  One of the individuals was armed with a hand gun.
