UNION, NJ – Two armed robberies earlier in the week are currently under investigation by Union police.

In the early morning hours of Monday, July 1, police say the QuickChek at 1090 Stuyvesant Avenue was robbed at gunpoint.  The suspects are described as two thin black males with masks.  According to police, the men fled in an unknown direction after brandishing a handgun and taking $100 in cash.

Minutes after the robbery, police say a patrol car pursued a blacked-out Audi with no license plates traveling east on Vauxhall Road from the area of the Garden State Motor Lodge.  The vehicle came from the direction of the QuickChek and was occupied by two males who matched the description of the robbery suspects.  Police say the pursuit was terminated, no apprehension was made.
