UNION, NJ - Union residents will now have the ability to rid their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.
In an effort to prevent pill abuse and theft, a joint effort between the Union Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, provides opportunities for residents to bring pills for disposal to the Union Police Department. The police cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous; no questions asked.
The receptacle for disposable will be available this Saturday, October 26 at the "Take Back Day" event, and the service at the Union Police Department, 981 Caldwell Avenue, will continue indefinitely.
