UNION, NJ – Union firefighters responded to an exterior house fire at approximately 8:30 Friday morning on Linn Avenue.

According to Union Fire Chief Mike Scanio, upon arrival firefighters found the right side of the home engulfed in flames, threatening to move into the interior.  Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, but the home sustained significant damage to the exterior and smoke damage to the interior, Scanio said.

The occupants of the home were outside when firefighters arrived and there were no reported injuries.  Scanio said the fire does not appear suspicious.  Firefighters turned the home back over to the homeowners for repair.
