UNION, NJ – Union police have identified the driver of the van that struck and critically injured a 12-year old boy Wednesday night on Galloping Hill Road.

According to police, the driver did not stop after striking the young boy, who was walking along Galloping Hill Road near Forest Drive.  After returning to work, the driver alerted the owner of the company because of the damage to the work van.  The owner contacted Union police, who responded to the Edison business to retrieve the van.

The names of the driver and business have not been released.

The victim remains in critical condition in University Hospital.  The investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to contact the crash investigator Officer Michael Salerno at 908-851-5070.
