SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Alexandra Kwasnik, a senior at Union Catholic, has been named as an Under Armour Honorable Mention All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The University of Cincinnati-bound Kwasnik is having a remarkable season for Union Catholic.

Kwasnik, a towering presence at 6-3 with great jumping ability (she won the State Non-Public A high jump title last spring), has been virtually an unstoppable force at the net. She has piled up 254 kills, 76 blocks, 97 digs, 187 service points, and 36 aces to help lead the Vikings to a 27-1 record, a second straight Union County title, and a ranking of No. 2 in the state.

Kwasnik, recognized on the N.J. All Non-Public Second-Team All-State team after a phenomenal junior season last year, will be back in action on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. when Union Catholic takes on Mt. St. Mary at Union Catholic in the second round of the NJSIAA Non-Public Tournament.
