My favorite part of being a high school athlete is that I get to play with my peers and make new friends in different grades.  Also my team is a family, all of them are my sisters that get along so well.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

My favorite athlete is Roger Federer. He is the number 2 tennis player in the world. He is such a great player and continues to be great even though he has had injuries and is not the youngest player (he is actually one of the oldest).

What are the most important attributes of being a leader?

A leader is someone who will stand up for what they believe, even if other people don’t believe in the same cause. They are honest and fair, with a positive attitude. Someone who can confidently communicate with others in a passive aggressive way.

What is your greatest high school accomplishment so far?

My greatest accomplishment in high school is that I am the captain of the Girl’s Tennis team as a junior. Usually a captain has to be a senior but I wasn’t.  Also I am proud of myself because I juggled tennis with my AP classes.

Do you play any other sports? What’s your favorite?

I also play softball for the Union Suffragettes. However my favorite sport is tennis.

What’s your favorite subject? Why?

My favorite subject in school is science. I am currently taking AP Chemistry and AP Psychology. Chemistry is a fun hands on and hands off class. We do exciting labs and learn different theories that all come together in the end. AP Psychology is such a fascinating class. The brain is such intriguing organ to learn about.

If you could spend the day with anyone in the world alive or dead, who would it be?

I would spend my day with Frank Sinatra. Frank Sinatra is one of my favorite singers. I am a fan of everything old especially from the 1950’s-1990’s. I would want him to give me a live performance and talk about his life with me.

What would your words of wisdom to be future UHS Athletes?

You can be anything you want to be as long as you try your hardest and never give up. I know everyone says that but it’s true. I was a freshman when I got on to the varsity tennis team, but I didn’t just get it, I had to work for it and I never gave up.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
When I am older, I want to become a doctor. Although I am not sure exactly what type of doctor but I know I want it to be related to the brain. The brain fascinates me and I want to figure out why people do the things they do.

What was the most difficult thing for you to overcome as a student-athlete?

When you are a high school athlete you have to juggle homework and your sport. The hardest part I had to overcome was time management. I am enrolled in four AP classes and the homework load is a lot. Coming home later in the day affected the amount of time I got to sleep.

Who inspires you?

My mom inspires me. She works so hard and tries to do the best for me and my family. My mother is the smartest woman ever.  She is a chemist in New York. She provides so much for me and she is the reason for why I do the things I do. We are so similar in many ways and she continues to inspire me even as I get older.

What are your plans after high school?

My plans after high school are too go to college in New Jersey. I want to major in Biochemistry. In high school I am taking many multiple AP classes so when I can go into college as a sophomore.
