VERONA, NJ - Ray Williams struck out 11 batters in seven innings, allowing just four hits and walking, one, to lead the Cedar Grove Panthers baseball team to a 7-4 victory over cross-town rivals the Verona Hillbillies in Verona on Friday.

Verona struck first and led 2-0 until the top of the sixth inning  when the Panthers went on a three-run rally, going on to add four runs in the seventh inning.  Anthony Clarizio went 2-for-4, driving in three runs for Cedar Grove, while Jake Ferrara went 3-for-4 with one RBI.  

Gabe Quagliata led for Verona, going 2-for-3 and driving in one run.  Anthony Zamloot was on the mound for the Hillbillies, striking out eight and walking two.

The win improves Cedar Grove to 6-3-1 for the season.  They host Montclair Kimberly Academy Saturday at 11 a.m.  Verona is now  4-5 for the season.  They travel to Dumont Saturday at 11 a.m.
