VERONA, NJ - Verona battled back from a 3-0 deficit in Monday's home baseball opener, but it was not enough to take down Columbia, which ultimately won, 4-3.

Ian Metzger pitched five innings for the Hillbillies, striking out four and giving up six hits.

A hit from Anthony Zamloot and a triple by Metzger brought in three runs for Verona in the sixth, but Columbia prevailed.
