BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Senior left-hander Pierce Coppola pitched a two-hitter and Verona scored all its runs in the fifth inning to defeat Bloomfield, 4-0, on Monday.

Coppola struck out 15 batters and walked three in his 108-pitch effort. In 18 innings this season, Coppola, a University of Florida commit, has struck out 37 batters, allowed three hits and has a 0.00 ERA. He has walked eight batters.

Steve Tafuri, Sean Mulligan and Chris Baker all delivered RBI doubles and Kyle McCaffrey also knocked in a run for the Hillbillies (5-2).
