Basketball: Cedar Grove Teams Earn No. 12 and No. 10 Spot in NJSIAA Tourney

CEDAR GROVE, NJ – Cedar Grove High School’s boys’ and girls’ basketball earned the No. 12 and No. 10 seeds respectively in the NJSIAA North 1 Group 1 Tournament which starts next week.

With a 10-11 record, the boys’ team earned the No. 12 seed.  The Panthers are led in scoring by junior Joe Rufo with 220 points for the season so far.  Senior Kevin Johnson has added up 205 points for Cedar Grove including 53 three-pointers.  Cedar Grove will travel to No. 5 Palisade Park on Feb. 29 at 7 p.m.

With a 13-8 record, the Lady Panthers earned the No. 10 spot.  The team is led by juniors Alyssa Lever with 263 points and 129 rebounds and Elyse Fearon with 194 points and 146 rebounds. They will travel to No. 7 Becton on Feb. 29 at 7 p.m.
