JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Cedar Grove Panthers boys basketball team broke a six game losing streak, defeating the McNair Cougars, 50-41, in Jersey City on Saturday.

The Panthers trailed 21-13 after the first half, but the third quarter proved to be decisive for the game.  Cedar Grove outscored McNair 27-9 and headed into the fourth quarter up 40-30 -- a gap that McNair was unable to close.

Mike Pronesti had 17 points and seven rebounds in the win.  Shane Benson tallied 10 points and five rebounds for the Panthers, while Luca Greco grabbed nine rebounds and scored five points.  Adam Habouche led for McNair with 18 points.

Cedar Grove improves to 6-7 for the season.  They host Hoboken on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
