Boys Lacrosse: Cedar Grove Earns First Varsity Win, Defeating Pompton Lakes 10-9

CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Alex LoPresti tallied five goals to help lead the Cedar Grove Panthers to their first varsity win, defeating Pompton Lakes, 10-9, at home on Tuesday.

The game was tied 2-2  at the end of the first quarter, but Cedar Grove pulled ahead and ended the half up 5-3.  The Panthers added three more goals in the third to Pompton Lakes' two.  Pompton Lakes rallied in the fourth out scoring Cedar Grove, 4-2, but it wasn't enough to take the win away from the Panthers.

"Alex Lopresti, Nick Lopresti, and Max Devito led the offense. Andrew Candino was solid in cage with 11 saves," said head coach David Bucchino.  "We are extremely happy about this win, however we are not content. As we always state, one game at a game and keep moving forward. I just never want our guys to stop working hard and believing in themselves."
