CEDAR GROVE, NJ – Republican and Cedar Grove resident Edward Buttimore announced his intent to seek the Republican nomination for State Senator for the 40th Legislative District which serves Bergen, Passaic, Morris and Essex Counties according to PolitickerNJ.
Filing his intention to run with New Jersey’s Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) on Dec. 15, Buttimore will run for the seat that will be vacated by Senator Kevin O’Toole in 2017. O’Toole recently announced he would not pursue reelection when his current term expires, having served 22 years as a lawmaker.
Buttimore is a retired former administrator in the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office. Currently he is the only declared candidate for the seat. The deadline for candidates to file is April 2017.
