NEWARK, NJ - On January 11, 2019, two nice things happened at the Prudential Center in Newark NJ!  Senior members of the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad were recognized courtside for their combined service to the Township of Cedar Grove of more than 135 years, and the Seton Hall Pirates pulled out a win versus Marquette University on SHU Alumni day.

Captain John Bannon, Assistant Captain Sandy Huber, Crew Chiefs Patty Lynch and Diane Ferrara attended the game to represent the CGARS, Cedar Grove’s volunteer ambulance and rescue squad organization. The CGARS has been serving the community in a volunteer capacity since 1938, and these longtime members represent all those members who, since the Squad’s inception, have managed to balance work, family and volunteering, so that those who live and work in Cedar Grove can receive help from trained EMT’s in their time of need.

The Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad is currently looking for members who wish to experience the rewards of community service and the camaraderie which develops between those who choose to serve.  Training is provided, so visit the Squad’s website cedargroverescue.org to obtain an application.
