On May 9, 2017 at 4:18 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle for an observed violation. The vehicle operator, a 65 year old male out of Montclair, was subsequently arrested after it was determined that his driving privileges were suspended. He was released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On May 9, 2017 at 9:21 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle for an observed violation. It was determined that the vehicle operator, a 30 year old male out of Montclair, was wanted on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Carteret. He was placed under arrest and turned over to Carteret Police.

On May 10, 2017 at 1:59 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle for an observed violation. It was subsequently determined that the operator was driving while intoxicated. He was also found to be in possession of CDS (LSD). He was arrested, processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On May 10, 2017 at 10:43 p.m., Ptl. Justin Westra stopped a vehicle that he observed speeding along Pompton Avenue. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 24 year old female passenger for possession of CDS (marijuana). She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On May 11, 2017 at 4:26 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck took a fraud report from a township resident. The resident reported receiving a call from a person representing the IRS who claimed that he had not paid his taxes. The victim supplied his social security number to the caller and believes the call was part of a scam. The victim was advised to monitor his credit reports and bank accounts.

On May 12, 2017 at 12:06 a.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume checked on a suspicious person walking along Pompton Avenue. The subject appeared to be under the influence of CDS. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 21 year old man out of Woodland Park for possession of CDS (Crystal Meth, Methamphetamine). He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On May 14, 2017 at 1:46 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a suspicious person observed looking into parked vehicles on Tower Drive. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 43 year old male out of Cedar Grove. It was determined that he was a wanted person by the Essex County Sheriff’s Department. At the time of his arrest he was in possession of CDS (Suboxone) and a hypodermic syringe. He was processed and turned over to Essex County Sheriff’s Officers.

All persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On May 14, 2018 at 5:57 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle without a front license plate and tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 36 year old male driver from Paterson for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
