On July 31, 2017 at 7:09 p.m., Ptl. Anthony Cardona stopped a motor vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 57 year old male operator out of Clifton for driving a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On July 31, 2017 at 11:10 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a motor vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 41 year old male operator out of Paterson for driving a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processe and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On August 1, 2017 at 5:26 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a motor vehicle for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 29 year old male operator out of Montclair for driving a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On August 2, 2017 at 01:51 a.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a motor vehicle displaying dark tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 21 year old male operator out of Glasser for driving a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On August 3, 2017, a Clover Court resident reported the theft of jewelry valued at $10, 000. The jewelry was stored in the attic near where work was recently performed on the HVAC system. The detective bureau is investigating the contractor who performed the work.

On August 2, 2017 at 3:35 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a motor vehicle displaying dark tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 31 year old male operator out of Clifton for driving a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On August 4, 2017 at 8:40 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with an obstructed windshield. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of two occupants. The vehicle operator, a 20 year old male operator out of Belleville, was arrested for driving with a suspended license. A 20 year old male passenger also out of Belleville was arrested for providing false information to hinder his arrest for outstanding criminal and traffic warrants. Both were processed and released with summonses to appear in court.

On August 2, 2017 at 01:51 a.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a motor vehicle for an obstructed windshield. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 37 year old male operator out of Brooklyn, NY for driving a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On August 5, 2017 at 3:11 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a motor vehicle for speeding on Pompton Avenue. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 54 year old male operator out of Cedar Grove for driving with a suspended license. He was additionally charge with a criminal offense for operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended for a DWI offense. He was processed and transported to the Essex County Jail.

On August 5, 2017 at 7:35 a.m., Ptl. Jason Rivers stopped a motor vehicle for a speeding violation. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 21 year old male operator out of Newark for driving a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On August 6, 2017 at 2:09 p.m. a Stevens Avenue resident reported a burglary and theft of a safe containing $30,000 from the basement of her residence. The victim stated that two days ago a white male came to her door identifying himself as an employee of the Cedar Grove water department. He told her there was a water problem in the area and he needed to access her basement inspect the meter. The incident is under investigation by the detective bureau.

On August 6, 2017 at 5:01 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a motor vehicle for an obstructed windshield. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 22 year old male operator out of Maryland for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
