December 25, 2017 – December 31, 2017

On December 28, 2017 at 12:01 a.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a vehicle for an inoperable headlamp and dark tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 31 year old female operator from Elizabeth for driving while suspended. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On December 28, 2017, Ptl. Jason Rivers investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the driveway of a Young Avenue residence. Home surveillance video captured the actor at 2:16 a.m., wearing a dark hoodie concealing his face. Residents are again reminded to remove valuables and lock their vehicles.

On December 29, 2017 at 1:53 a.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a vehicle displaying dark tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 24 year old male driver from Newark for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On December 29, 2017 at 8:29 p.m., Ptl. Justin Westra stopped a vehicle for speeding on Pompton Avenue. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 28 year old female operator from Fairlawn for driving with a suspended license. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On December 30, 2017 at 2:12 a.m., officers responded to the Grasshopper bar/restaurant at 292 Grove Avenue for a large fight. Arriving officers observed two males fighting in the parking lot surrounded by a large crowd. The involved parties, a 21 year old male from Lodi and a 25 year old male from Lyndhurst, were both arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. They were processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On December 30, 2017 at 6:23 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a vehicle displaying dark tinted windows and an inoperable brake lamp. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 28 year old male driver from Weehawken for possession of marijuana.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Aryeh Goodman, 35, the rabbi from the  East Brunswick Chabad Learning Center has been charged with one count of engaging in prostitution with a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.  He was one of thirty men charged with having sex with the teenager over a four-week period.
