On May 21, 2018 at 8:53 p.m., Ptl. Nicole Witel investigated a motor vehicle crash which led to the arrest of a 29 year old female driver from Cedar Grove for driving while intoxicated. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
On May 22, 2018 at 10:06 a.m., Ptl. Joseph Russomanno investigated a report of a suspicious male outside of TD Bank North at 85 Pompton Avenue. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 66 year old male from Orlando, FL for outstanding criminal warrants from Point Pleasant Beach, Bradley Beach Borough, and Belmar Borough. He was released after posting the required bail.
On May 23, 2018 at 7:35 p.m., police and fire personnel responded to a Brunswick Road residence on a report of a possible over fire. The fire department determined that an electrical malfunction caused a sparking condition in the electric oven. Power to the oven was shut off pending a repair.
On May 23, 2018 at 11:42 p.m., police officers responded to a Patten Terrace address on a report of a suspicious male. The resident, who was in bed at the time, was alerted to motion detected by her Ring doorbell camera. She viewed the video and observed a dark skinned male in dark clothing with a hoodie approach her front door. He then quickly turned and walked away. Officers from surrounding towns assisted in an area search. The subject was never located. The incident is under investigation.
On May 24, 2018 at 12:17 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle after observing an object hanging from its rear view mirror that obstructed the driver’s view. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 56 year old male driver from Parsippany for possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a valid prescription. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
On May 24, 2018 at 2:30 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck investigated a report of a stolen leaf blower from a landscaper on Lopez Road. The blower was stolen while the landscaper was working. The incident is under investigation.
On May 26, 2018 at 8:01 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a vehicle for failing to keep right and objects hanging in the windows obstructing the drivers view. The operator, a 34 year old male from Newark, was arrested for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
