On July 31, 2018 at 1:48 a.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a vehicle for an inoperable brake lamp. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of both occupants. An 18 year male and 18 year old female, both from Montclair, were charged with possession of marijuana. They were also charged with possession of fraudulent driver’s licenses. Both were released with a summons to appear in Superior Court.
On August 1, 2018 at 8:43 a.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck stopped a vehicle equipped with dark tinted windows and a tinted cover that obstructed the license plate. A 22 year old female passenger from Montclair was placed under arrest after it was determined that she had an outstanding warrant. She was later released on her own recognizance with a new court date.
On August 2, 2018 at 9:34 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle with an expired registration. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 22 year old male operator from Orange for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
On August 3, 2018 at 4:49 p.m., Ptl. Jason Rivers investigated a motor vehicle crash. It was determined that one of the drivers, a 23 year old female from East Orange, was wanted by multiple jurisdictions for outstanding criminal and traffic warrants. She was also operating a vehicle with a suspended license. She was arrested, processed and turned over to Roseland Police for an outstanding warrant.
