July 25 - 31, 2016

On Tuesday, July 26 at 1:42 p.m., police arrested a Township man on charges he was illegally in possession of the Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) Heroin (10 glassine folds), Oxycontin (3 pills), and Alprazolam (1 pill). The 28-year-old defendant, Michael J. Delmonico, was processed on the charges at police headquarters and released pending a Superior Court Arraignment in Newark on August 10, 2016. Lt. Joseph Cirasa was the arresting officer.

On Thursday, July 28 at 11:18 a.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation. A subsequent check of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) computer revealed the operator’s NJ driving privileges were under suspension. The 28-year-old operator, Manuel A. Gilbert-Brito of Elizabeth, was arrested on the charge, processed at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.

On Saturday, July 30 at 1:26 a.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed speeding violation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 20-year-old operator, Nicholas A. Mineo of Longmeadow, MA, after he was found to be possession of CDS marijuana (under 50g) and an alcoholic beverage while under the legal age. Mineo was processed on the charges at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.

On Sunday, July 31 at 11:56 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck initiated a motor vehicle stop for an observed violation. As the officer secured the operator’s credentials, he observed a clear mason jar that appeared to contain marijuana in plain view in the passenger compartment. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the 20-year-old operator, Robin A Vasquez of West Orange on charges he was in possession of CDS marijuana (under 50g) and drug paraphernalia. Vasquez was processed at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.
