CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Anthony Grosso, superintendent of Cedar Grove Schools, sent out an update to district families on Monday stating the targeted dates for students to return to school for the hybrid learning model.

Grosso said that the school system, which right now is operating with a fully online teaching model with no students in classrooms, will start to reopen buildings to students on Sept. 29. On that date, students Pre-K through Grade 4 are expected to return to school for hybrid learning.

But middle school and high school students will remain on Cedar Grove’s total virtual model with an anticipated return to hybrid date of Oct. 19.

"Our Human Resource Department has explored various options to accommodate staff which will ultimately provide coverage for the facilitation of instruction for our students at the elementary level," Grosso said in his letter. "On September 29th, Cedar Grove Public Schools will transition from a full virtual model to a hybrid model for our Pre-K to 4th grade student population only. Students will follow the original Hybrid Model Schedule beginning with Cohort B attending Live/ In School instruction while Cohort A will follow Synchronous/Virtual Instruction. Updated schedules and information will be provided to families and caregivers by each individual school along with updated information on our Return to School Website.

"All entry and dismissal information will follow the Return to School document, as well as, any students or staff who may encounter symptoms or an actual diagnosis related to COVID-19."
