CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Cedar Grove High School senior Christopher Handel recently completed his Eagle Scout Project. In order to earn the rank of Eagle Scout young men must plan, coordinate and complete a service project.
Handel, a member of Cedar Grove Scout Troop 65, built a tool shed for the Cedar Grove Historical Society’s organic gardens at Morgan’s Farm. Handel raised the funds to purchase a shed, nails, shingles, cinder blocks, paint and paintbrushes.
With the help of other troop members and adults, the shed was erected along side the organic gardens. When completed the keys to the shed were handed to farmer John Ostering. Handel also donated the remaining funds that he collected to the Historical Society to purchase gardening tools.
