Cedar Grove's Joe McCarthy Wins Mini Max High School Football Award

CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Cedar Grove High School senior Joseph McCarthy was named a 2017 Mini Max High School Award winner by the Maxwell Football Club.  Sixty-five players were selected from schools located throughout New Jersey. Players were nominated by their coaches and were evaluated based on a criteria that includes; football performance, academics, and community service.

"Joe is a perfect recipient of this award because he embodies all the characteristics of the Maxwell award from athletics to academics to community service," said coach and Athletic Director Rob Gogerty.  "He’s a super leader that is extremely coachable and is willing to do anything for the betterment of the team. I am extremely proud that Joe was selected as one of the mini-Maxwell award recipients."

McCarthy, along with the other Mini Max Award recipients will be honored at a dinner on Jan. 28 at St. David the King in Princeton Junction. One player will be selected from the Mini Max winners as the New Jersey High School Player of the Year, which will be announced at the dinner. 

The awards dinner is open to the public and tickets are available on the Club’s website www.maxwellfootballclub.org.
