Cicala, Peterson and Vargo for CG Town Council: Advancing the Community Together

On May 9th, the residents of Cedar Grove will have an opportunity to elect three people to the Town Council.   It is a critical time for our community as the make-up of the Town Council will change significantly for the first time in many years.

It is with this in mind, that I write this letter in support of my council colleague, Councilman Joe Cicala, and for council candidates Kerry Peterson and Robbie Vargo in their election to the Town Council.  Joe, Kerry and Robbie are the only candidates who offer a history of dedication and volunteerism in our community.  While this is not a pre-requisite to serving on the Town Council, as the saying goes, actions speak louder than words and their actions, whether working individually as dedicated volunteers in our community or together as a team as they vigorously campaign throughout town, cannot speak any louder.

I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve the residents of Cedar Grove on the Town Council for over ten years.  During this period, I have worked closely with some good people on the Town Council.  While my colleagues on the council and I may not have always agreed on each issue, it has been my experience, up until recently, that we respected each other’s decisions and continued to work together as a council and not seek to act autonomously.  Independent thought on the council is critical, however, in order to govern responsibly and efficiently, the council must eventually come together after a healthy debate of the issues in order to make difficult decisions for the betterment of our community.   Joe, Kerry and Robbie each bring with them their own experiences and ideas which I am excited to embrace, however, each of them already understands the importance of working together in order to better serve the residents of Cedar Grove.  Their campaign slogan is “Advancing the Community Together” and I have no doubt that they will do just that once elected and serving on the Town Council.

Joe, Kerry and Robbie have committed themselves to maintaining the quality of life that we all enjoy in Cedar Grove.   I feel very fortunate that they are willing to volunteer their time to serve our community.  Please join me on Tuesday, May 9th by voting to re-elect Joe Cicala and elect Kerry Peterson and Robbie Vargo to the Cedar Grove Town Council so that they can work for all of us to keep Cedar Grove a special place to live in and raise our families.
