MONTCLAIR, NJ - Crane Park Market celebrated its grand opening on Sunday.
Crowds of people gathered for the food, in an area where many have called for an end to the food desert. Since the closing of the Pathmark Supermarket, residents have requested a much-needed food option for the area.
With the help of many, including resident Daniel Cruz, Israel Cronk and the Montclair Center BID staff, the park was prepped for opening over the past few weekends and residents were finally able to see the fruits of their labor.
Ann Marie Sekeres of the Montclair Center BID said, "The opening of the Crane Park Market yesterday was a success - with Profeta Farms nearly selling out of everything, people enjoying the weather and shopping and great music."
The market will take place again this Thursday, July 20, from 3-8pm, located at Crane Park (behind Lackawanna Plaza at the Glenridge and Greenwood Avenue intersection).
Crane Park Market will run every Thursday from 3-8 pm and every Sunday from 12-5 pm.
