Essex County Announces Free Summer Concert Series Lineup


ESSEX COUNTY, NJ – Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. invites the public to visit the Essex County Park System and enjoy the 2018 Essex Country Free Summer Music Concert Series. Upcoming events feature Jazz Concerts, a House Music Festival, Jukebox Legends, and Julian and Dominique.

“Our Free Concert Series offers a diverse lineup of performers who will take center stage in venues throughout our historic Essex County Park System. Pack a blanket, enjoy the cool evening breeze and dance to the sounds of classical, rock and roll, jazz, big band, Latin and more. We have an outstanding line-up that is sure to entertain and impress,” DiVincenzo said.

Co-sponsored by The Branch Brook Park Alliance, a Jazz Concert Series will be held on Thursday evenings in June. They will be held as follows:

House Music Festival

The 2018 Essex County Summer Concert Series continues with a House Music Festival in Essex County Weequahic Park. Brass Construction, a funk group with numerous dance hits in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, will headline the festival. It will be held as follows:

Jukebox Legends

Joe Leo, Billy Sagarese and John Sebastian form the trio of the Jukebox Legends. They are a tribute group singing the great songs from the 1950s to the 1970s. Over the years, the Jukebox Legends have worked as the opening act for Joey Dee & The Starlighters, The Duprees, Kenny Vance & The Planatones, The Brooklyn Bridge, Larry Chance & The Earls, The 1910 Fruitgum Company, Dennis Tufano from the Buckinghams and many other national acts. It will be held as follows:

Julian & Dominique

Julian & Dominique are a strong duo that performs covers of the best new and classical hits. Known for his fantastic impersonations, Julian has been performing in clubs and restaurants as some of the 20th century’s most popular musicians. His list of impersonations includes Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and Luther Vandross as well as both Natalie and Nat King Cole. Dominique similarly has a large repertoire of artists that she covers including Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga and Meghan Trainor. She also sings in English, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. Together Julian & Dominique put on dynamic and entertaining performances. It will be held as follows:

                                                Bloomfield Avenue and Lakeside Avenue

                                                Verona, NJ


The Summer Music Concert Series is being sponsored by Rose Squared Productions, The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey and TD Bank. The series is also made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.

Concerts are held at accessible sites. Persons who require special accommodations or assistance are asked to call at least two weeks prior to the concert to alert staff as to their needs.
