Essex County, NJ – Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. invites the public to visit the Essex County Park System and enjoy the 2015 Essex County Free Summer Music Concert Series. Upcoming events include performances by the Symphonics, Gordon James, and The Cameos and The Infernos

“Our Free Concert Series offers a diverse lineup of performers who will take center stage in venues throughout our historic Essex County Park System. Pack a blanket, enjoy the cool evening breeze and dance to the sounds of classical, rock and roll, jazz, big band, Latin and more. We have an outstanding line-up that is sure to entertain and impress,” DiVincenzo said.

The Symphonics perform a variety of music from the 1940s through today, including Big Band, Motown, Oldies, Swing, Show Tunes, and Ballroom. Original band members Stevie V and Michael Schiavo have taken the stage with groups such as The Infernos Show Band, Streetlight, The Duprees, The Drifters and other legendary groups. They are joined by Jason Gecek and Howard Hulen. The Symphonics will perform as follows:

Gordon James

Gordon James is a talented performer, arranger, composer and recording artist who weaves his own tapestry of Jazz, Latin, R&B, Hip Hop, Soul & Pop music. His songs are funky and lyrical, his arrangements are hip and polished, and playing the flugelhorn and muted trumpet are perfect for conveying the passion of his compositions. “A New Kind of Love” is his most recent CD that was released in 2011. Gordon James will perform as follows:

The Cameos and The Infernos

Known as “New Jersey’s Favorite Oldies Group,” The Cameos are a talented eight-piece oldies and vocal harmony group that creates and performs their own unique renditions of the most popular songs of the 1950s 1960s and 1970s. They will be joined by “America’s #1 Show Band,” The Infernos, whose vast repertoire includes all genres of music including Big Band, Oldies, Motown and today’s top chart busters. Bobby Wells, former member and musical director of The Duprees, is the leader of the band and provides keyboard and background vocals. Formerly of The Commodores, lead singer Kenny Simmons brings a powerful voice and showmanship that is sure to engage the audience. The Cameos and The Infernos will perform as follows:

                       Watchung Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ

The SummerMusic Concert Series is being sponsored by Rose Squared Productions, The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey and TD Bank. The series is also made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.

Concerts are held at accessible sites. Persons who require special accommodations or assistance are asked to call at least two weeks prior to the concert to alert staff as to their needs. Admission to the concerts is free. For more information, please call the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs at 973‑239-2485.

The Essex County Park System was created in 1895 and is the first county park system established in the United States. The Park System consists of more than 6,000 acres and has 22 parks, five reservations, an environmental center, a zoo, Treetop Adventure Course, ice skating rink, roller skating rink, three public golf courses, golf driving range, two miniature golf courses, Treetop Adventure Course, three off-leash dog facilities, a castle and the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Aryeh Goodman, 35, the rabbi from the  East Brunswick Chabad Learning Center has been charged with one count of engaging in prostitution with a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.  He was one of thirty men charged with having sex with the teenager over a four-week period.
