Effective immediately, the exit to and from Fairfield Road off Route 46 in Wayne is closed to all traffic due to an emergency bridge repair.
The closure is expected to last for several month, according to Passaic County officials.
There will be no exit or access to Fairfield Road from Route 46 or from Fairfield Road to Route 46. Until repairs are complete, Fairfield Road will be a dead end south of Two Bridges Road.
In addition, all trucks will be prohibited south of Demarest Drive.
Signs will be posted at Two Bridges Road and Route 46 alerting motorists to the closure and police will issue summonses to motorists who go through the "do not enter" sign.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and follow detours.
