VERONA, NJ - Frank Riggio ran for 122 yards and three touchdowns to help lead the Verona Hillbillies football team to a 29-7 victory over Newton in the NJSIAA North 2, Group 2 semifinals in Verona on Friday.

Verona got on the board early when quarterback Cael Zebrowski connected with Jake McConnachie  with a 42-yard touchdown pass.  The extra point by Steven Luehs gave the Hillbillies a 7-0 lead.  Newton tied it up with a touchdown from Julian Sibblies in the second quarter.

Riggio answered with a 64 yard touchdown run and Luehs completed the two point conversion putting Verona up 15-7 at the end of the first half.  Riggio continued his assault in the second half scoring two more touchdowns to clinch the win for the Hillbillies.

Verona remains undefeated, improving to 10-0 for the season.  They will host Lenape Valley on Friday in search of the North 2, Group 2 Sectional title.
