CEDAR GROVE, NJ – The suspect in a forgery and fraud incident at the CVS Pharmacy located at 387 Pompton Ave. in Cedar Grove turned himself in to Cedar Grove police on Monday.

Police responded to CVS Pharmacy on Friday on a report that a man attempted to obtain Oxycodone through a fraudulent prescription.  The suspect had left the store by the time officers arrived, but investigation identified 40-year-old Daniel Brinez of Clifton as the suspect.

Cedar Grove police issued a warrant for Brinez on charges of forgery and criminal attempt to obtain a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) by fraud and entered him into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) computer as a wanted person.  According to police, Brinez turned himself in on the outstanding warrant on Monday.  He was processed and released pending a Sept. 7 Superior Court Arraignment in Newark.  Ptl.
