Former Owner of Krauszer’s Food Stores, Jacob Krauszer of Edison Dies at 87

Jacob Krauszer, 87, of Edison passed away peacefully at his summer home on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. 

Born in New Brunswick, he resided in Metuchen for 35 years before moving to Edison 30 years ago. He was the former owner of Krauszer's Food Stores. Jacob had served in the Merchant Marines and was an avid boater captaining his boat "The Milky Way". He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the Jersey Shore. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen; as well as a former member of the New Brunswick Rotary Club and the Navy League.

He was predeceased by two brothers Nicholas and George Krauszer.

Surviving are his wife, of 66 years, Joan (nee Brendel); three daughters Barbara Iderosa and her husband Rich of Pahokee, FL, Nancy Skopas and her husband Rand of Toms River, Cynthia O'Neill and her husband Robert of Metuchen; a son James A. Krauszer, Sr. and his wife Karin of Edison; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. 

Services will take place on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home 568 Middlesex Ave. (RT 27) Metuchen. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen PO Box 385 Metuchen, NJ 08840. To send condolences please visit costello-runyon.com.
